Wayland James Hurst, Sr. was born on February 15, 1974, in Galveston, Texas to Samuel Stone and the late Alesia Gale Hurst. 

Wayland is preceded in death by his mother and son, Alesia Gale Hurst and Diajwan Triplett.

Wayland was educated in the Hitchcock Independent School District and graduated from Mira Mesa High School in San Diego, CA. He worked at various jobs before becoming disabled. Wayland was a member of Greater House of Love Church in La Marque, TX.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        
Wayland was a loving and caring person who cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren and loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved being 
active in his children's sports and did it often and well. On Thursday, January 11, 2024, he concluded his journey in this life. Wayland shall be missed but never
forgotten.
