Tammy La Verne Mangum was born November 27, 1962, in Markham, TX to Isedell Mangum and Cleo Ward. She was raised in the Galveston County Area, attended school in La Marque, and was baptized at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, where her family attended. She began her family, a son and a daughter, Gary David and Tynesha. They made their home in the area, and she became a CNA and worked very diligently to care for her family. Tammy was full of fun and frolic she made every opportunity to see that her family and friends enjoyed life together to the fullest. Listening to music and sitting on the porch was a favorite past time. She will be missed because of her straightforward view to everything.
On Monday, September 1, 2025, Tammy answered the call that all of us will receive one day. She is preceded in death by her father, Isedell Mangum; her partner, Michael; her son, Gary Mangum; grandparents, Pearl Mangum, Annie and Earl Wilcox along with many other family and friends.
To forever love and cherish her memories is her mother, Cleo Ward; daughter, Tynesha Mangum; grandchildren, Derrick Nabors, Ty’Coria Simon, Hezekiah Mangum, and Graison Mangum; Godmother, Anna Stewart; God daughters, Ebony Lafell and Jerriquisha Lloyden; devoted Friends Jean Kirks Shana Hicks Debra Alexander Thyra Palmer Alicia Smith Danita Warren, Annie Ward, Valencia Joshua, Doris Chatman (Soul), Gloria Ward, Willie Etta Harris, Laronda Sam; and many others who have been friends thru her lifetime.
