Rodney Clarence Nelson, was born on June 17, 1981, to Rosie Pearl Nelson and William Dickerson.  He was raised in Texas City and attended Texas City Independent School District.

Rodney passed away on January 25, 2025.  He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Pearlie Mae Johnson and Willie Lee Dickerson; Grandfather, Elize Nelson Sr., and F.S. Clay, Sr.; Great Grandmothers, Rachel Anderson, Alice Sherwood, and Johnnie Mae Owens; sister, Rashell Tanisha Nelson; uncles, L.C. Anderson and Tommy Lee Merchant; aunts, Jocelyn Clay, Myra Ware, and Kimberly Clay; cousins, James Martin, Sr. and Kendrick Nelson; nephew, Ty'Jarion.
