Rodney Earl McNair Obituary

Remembering Rodney Earl McNair
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Friend.

The bible tells us that a good man’s steps are ordered by the Lord. He finds favor from God and leaves an inheritance for his children’s children. Proverbs 13:22

Born to Hardiest McNair, Sr and Jessie Blacher McNair on November 24, 1961, Rodney was a beautiful, happy, dimple-faced baby.

Affectionately known as the Family Raconteur (storyteller), Rodney could spin a tale like no other! He would often say, “I can’t make this stuff up”.  Or “oooh, that DNA”. Whatever stories he told, they flowed out like water.

We would describe Rodney as:
Carefree and Easy-going!
Loyal and Steadfast!
A Fierce Protector - he always fought for his family!
A Barnabas - always encouraging!
A “Ride or Die” - he always had our backs!
Intuitive - he always knew when we needed him!
Code name “Rock” - because he was rock-solid!
A Quiet Storm!

Rodney served his country in the US Coast Guard.  He served his family, friends and community as well.  Going out of his way to help others with great joy and love.

Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Patricia, son Corey, daughter in love Ronnetta, daughter Talia (Michael), sons Lawrence Mason, Lance Mason, Aries Christopher Mason (Brianna), and his boys Dexter and Duncan.

His grandchildren, Malachi, Malcolm, Laila, Jule (JD), Michael, Tyree, Lawrence, Le’yanah, Alayia, Langston, and Harper.

Great-grandchildren Rome, Lauren, Cali and Camryn.

Siblings Sharron Mosley, Antoinette Lacey (Michael), Hardiest McNair, Jr. (Jessie), Wanda Williams (Marcus), James McNair (Belinda), Linda McNair-Price (Bill).

Mother-in-law, Mary Levine

Aunts, an abundance of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
