     Mr. Robert Earl Thomas was born on April 29, 1963, in Mansfield, LA to Charlie Lee Thomas, Sr. and Dorothy Jean Thomas.  Robert moved from Mansfield LA at the age of 2 years old and moved to Dickinson, TX in 1965 with his parents, brothers, and sisters.  Robert was called “Honeydew” by all who knew and loved him.

     He went to school in Dickinson to Primary Elementary to Dickinson High School.  Robert started to work at the City of Alvin driving trucks for a little bit shortly after he started working, with a man named Quake until his health started to give out on him.   “Honeydew” started his own lawn service named Robert Thomas Lawn Service.  He worked his business for 40 years along with Wilson Ardie Service consisted of cutting lawns, doing flower beds.  And whatever customer needed, Robert worked up to December 20, 2023. On July 16, 2024, the good Lord called him home.   Honeydew loved doing a lot of things in his life. His goddaughter, CC to her favorite place Walmart along with his favorite place HEB. He loved to take his godson, DJ walking thru High School grounds and the track. Honeydew loved spending time with them and their family.  Robert loved talking trash, and going to Church Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Alvin Texas every Sunday.  He would leave there and go to 2 other churches in Dickinson Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist and Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church every Sunday until his health fell, he loved working for the Lord. He helped with both Churches on the food drive in Dickinson. Honeydew loved playing dominoes with his partner Bobby Richardson aka McAdoo and would win 1st place.

     Robert unwavering love for helping people, he would give you the shirt off his back if he could help you out that’s the way Honeydew expressed his love.   He loved his cat named Custom.

     Robert is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Lee Thomas, Sr., mother, Dorothy Jean Thomas; brother, Charlie Lee Thomas, Jr., grandparents, Authur  Thomas, Ammie Thomas, Mary and Ed Moblin, uncles and aunts, nieces, nephew, and cousins.

     Robert Earl Thomas “HONEYDEW” leaves to cherish his memories, sisters, Barbara Faye Thomas, Gloria Colbert (David), Betty Johnson (Eric); brother, Jerry Wayne Thomas; Jancie Davis, goddaughter, Ciara Gaines and godson, Marvindale Frederick Jr.;  aunt, Marvis Wyatt; uncle, J.B. Moblin; Curley Biggins (Charie), Arthur Britton; sister- n-law, Jackie Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, domino partner, Bobby Richardson AKA “McAdoo” and numerous friends.
