Reverend Jessie Bee Oliver Obituary
On January 30, 1955, Hiawatha and Jessie B. Oliver welcomed their son, Jessie Bee Oliver, into their family. He was the seventh child born. Jessie went on to graduate from La Marque High School as a member of the Class of 1974.
He accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age, becoming a devoted member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church. As he grew in his faith, he answered the call to preach early in life. He was later ordained as a minister under the leadership of Mother Florence Brown in El Maton, Texas. For several years, he faithfully served as pastor of True Light Missionary Baptist Church #4 in Edna, Texas.
On October 10, 1979, Jessie united in marriage with Marilyn Muse at True Light Missionary Baptist Church in El Maton, Texas. They shared 33 years of marriage until her passing and were blessed with two beautiful children, Crystal and Little Jesse. He retired in 1995, after several years of dedicated service as a sanitation worker for the City of Texas City, taking great pride in his work. He went on to work as a cook at Popeyes for a few years.
Jessie had a deep passion for preaching and sharing the Good News of God. He cherished time with his family, enjoyed watching classic western and martial arts movies, and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Above all, he loved indulging in delicious soul food!
