With heavy hearts and loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of Rayland Anthony Parker, who entered eternal rest on May 9, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on October 30, 1968, Anthony was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend whose warmth, humor, and loving spirit touched the lives of many. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love he shared and the lasting memories he leaves behind.
Anthony leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Veronica Parker; stepson Xavier Walker; his loving siblings, Gwendolyn Parker, Richard Parker, and Glenn Parker (Veronica Lynn Parker); his nieces and nephews, Richard Parker Jr. (Chaka Parker), Rose Parker, Jordan Parker, Keria Cheeks, Byron Stewart, Nydrea Parker, Deja Parker, Diamond Simpson (Art Williams), Emit Simpson III, Kenyon Parker, and Glenn Parker Jr.; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. Each of them will carry his memory in their hearts and continue to honor the love and bond they shared with him.
Anthony was born in Galveston, Texas, and was raised in Texas City, Texas, where he spent most of his life and built many meaningful connections over the years. He graduated from Texas City High School in 1988 and went on to work for the City of Texas City and Texas City Independent School District. Through his work and daily life, he formed lasting friendships and was known for the laughter, personality, and strong spirit he brought to those around him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Parker, and his father, Willie Parker.
Anthony will be remembered for his outgoing personality and his gift for making others laugh. He was the kind of person who could brighten a room with a joke and put a smile on the faces of everyone around him. He got along with people and was known for his easygoing spirit, yet he remained true to himself and never compromised on what he believed. That strength of character, along with his warmth and humor, made him deeply loved by family and friends.
