Priscilla (Tezeno) Arvie Obituary

On April 23, 2024, at the age of 71, Priscilla heard the voice of 1esus saying, "Come to me, my daughter and I will give you rest."

Priscilla Tezeno Arvie was born on July 4, 1952, to the late Bobby and Elnora Slaughter Tezeno in Washington, LA. She was the seventh daughter of ten siblings. She was baptized at an early age at True Vine Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Steward in Grand Prairie, LA.

Later in life, Priscilla met Lee Andrus Arvie, Sr. and the two joined as one. From this union, four (4) children were born.

Priscilla worked as a nursing assistant for 20 years. She also worked as a Direct Care Worker taking care of others. Later, she changed her profession as she found joy and pleasure as a game room attendant assisting customers. She remained an attendant until her health prevented her from continuing and she then retired.

Priscilla was a loving, compassionate woman who opened her home and heart to anyone who needed her. She took care of them as if they were her own family. She was always giving and pouring into others. She gave effortlessly and helped many during her time here on Earth. One could say that her heart was too big for her short stature.  It didn’t matter what title you used for her.  Rather it was Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister, Nooney, or Priscilla; just know if you were connected to her in anyway, the love she gave was pure and unconditional. Although Priscilla's physical presence is no longer here, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Priscilla leaves behind to mourn her passing, her husband, Lee Andrus Arvie, Sr., her children: Lee Andrus Arvie, Jr. (Shirelle) of Newport News, Virginia, Willie James Arvie, Daniel Jerome Arvie (Terri) and Brentney Arvie Bledsoe (Rashaud) all of Texas City, TX, thirteen (13) grandchildren, one (1) great-grandchild, one (1) sister, Ethel Tezeno of Mamou, LA; one (1) brother, James Tezeno, Sr. (Linda) of Plaisance, LA; four (4) godchildren, Marcus J. Tezeno, Andermekkia Dantzler, Marqus Johnson, and Debra Merchant; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives, and friends.

Sis. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Elnora Tezeno, three (3) sisters, Louverta Tezeno Fontenot, Daranell Tezeno Smith, and Nora Marie Tezeno; four (4) brothers, LH Tezeno, Olivier Tezeno, Edward Lee Tezeno and Lewis Tezeno; one (1) grandson, Lee Andrus Arvie, III; one (1) granddaughter, Tia Arvie; her mother in-law and father-in-law, Willery and Lula Mae Arvie.

Take your rest in the arms of the Lord, Priscilla Tezeno Arnie knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by many.
