Journey of Life
Mekishia La’Shon Jenkins Bohanan; a deeply loved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, cousin, granddaughter, and friend to many went to her heavenly home at the age of 48.
Mekishia was born into the union of Juarez Warren Jenkins and Daphney Ann Thibodeaux on July 27, 1975, at Mainland Center in Texas City, Texas. Mekishia was affectionately known as, “Kishia.” Kishia attended La Marque High School and is a graduate of the class of 1994. She aspired to become a Paralegal but settled into a career in the Childcare Industry until her health provided a segway to retirement. She loved and enjoyed working with children.
Kishia was positive, forgiving, patient, strong, hard-working, and very family-oriented. Kishia also had a huge heart.
On October 18, 2023, God requested Kishia’s presence so she could rest in peace and eternity. Kishia endured a long journey with her illnesses; through it all, she kept a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She made it a point to make time to visit with family and attended as many family functions as she could while making sure her kids and grandchildren were taken care of.
Kishia’s absence has not been easy for us, but it was God’s plan to open His arms and embrace Kishia with her wings. We shall replace Kishia’s absence with her bright and beautiful smile, kindred spirit, and the memories she has left us with.
Kishia’s legacy of love will forever live in the hearts of her parents: Juarez Warren Jenkins (Florence) and Daphney Ann Thibodeaux, and children: Johnesha Keyshonia Washington, Jaden Tyrell Washington, and Jasmine Kimora Bohanan, grandchildren Paisley Azariah Jenkins, Paris Amaria Jenkins, and Sekani Legend Jenkins, brothers: J.B. Jenkins, Lawrence “Kent” Jenkins (Lula), William Henry Fowler, Jr., Ronald David Fowler, Ricky Dean Fowler, Rodney Fowler, and Shon Wayne Fowler (Sade) and her grandfather: William Henry Fowler (Josie).
