Mary Jones Obituary

 

     Mary Jones was born on May 27, 1953, to Arrow and Hattie Qualls in Jonesboro, LA. 

     Mary spent her childhood and attended school in Jonesboro, LA.  She moved to Texas and graduated from Ball High class of 1971.

     Mary was employed with child protective services (CPS) for many years working in Galveston County. 

     Mary accepted Christ at a young age.  She was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City for years.  She sang in the choir and worked with different ministries within the church. 

     Mary was good hearted and was big on family unity.  She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mary loved to gather with her family and enjoy life.  She also loved going fishing and enjoyed watching “The Young and The Restless”.  

     Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Arrow Qualls and Hattie Mae Qualls; sister, Mary Virginia Ensley, and Margaret Jeanette Nix; brothers, William Mack, Earl D. Malone, Junior Knox, Joe C. Jones and great nephew, Chase Lundy.

     Mary leaves her legacy of love in the hearts of her children, James Gilbert (Rachel), Chris Gilbert (La'Shuna) and Sheridan Jones (Angel); nine grandkids and six great grandkids a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Mary’s smile will be missed by all.
