It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Lee Johnson, who departed this life on April 4, 2025. She was born on October 25, 1940, in Wharton, Texas to Carrie Hogan. Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend.

     Mary attended school in Wharton County and later moved to Texas City.  She worshiped at Barbours’ Chapel Baptist Church. Mary worked in dietary for nursing homes.  She loved to cook and bake, but she really enjoyed going to the Casino.  Mary’s greatest joy was her family.  She was truly a God-sent mother.

     Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Belton Johnson; mother, Carrie Hogan and her brother, Larry.

     Mary leaves loving memories in the hearts of her children: James Randle and Demetrius Johnson; grandchildren, Tasharra Randle, Twanna Randle, Joshua Johnson, Dearia Williams, Darrell Williams III, Michael Allen, William Randle, Joshaya Johnson, Teashia Thompson, Lawana Holbert, and Diamond.
