Mary Florence Haynes Johnson was born on May 28, 1957 to the late Earl Lee & Ella Mae Haynes. She was a graduate of La Marque High School, Class of 1975. Mary attended Paul Quinn College, in Waco Texas, where she received her degree in Sociology. She later attained her Teaching degree from University of Houston Clear Lake. Mary was a Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

     Mary accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Greater Barbours Chapel Church. Mary was a former educator, working for La Marque, Texas City, and Hitchcock Independent School Districts. She truly loved teaching and making a lasting impact on the lives of her students.

     On Sunday, December 21, 2025, Mary departed this earthly life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Lee & Ella Mae Haynes; sisters, Versa Haynes and; Gertie Haynes; brother, Charles Haynes; nephew, Cedric Haynes.

     Left to cherish memories of her life are sisters, Ruby Haynes & Betty Haynes Bookman of Texas City, Texas; brother James Haynes (Willie Mae) of Augusta, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Sheila Eirven Adams (Sammie) of Houston,Texas; Robert DeAndre; Eirven of Texas City, Texas; Wanda Lawton (Carey) of Augusta, Georgia; great nieces and nephews Charmaine Thompson, Zachary Adams, Brittany Thompson, Avonia Thompson, & Earvonia Thompson, and host of relatives, cousins, and many many friends.
