On Good Friday, Lois Marie Bradley, gained her heavenly wings at Kindred Hospital in Clear Lake, Texas at the age of 70. Lois was the second born of nine children to parents, Loyce and Luna Mae Bradley on August 2, 1952 in Galveston, TX. She accepted Christ at an early age at New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she was an active member until death. She excelled in school in the La Marque School District to graduate from Dickinson High School in 1971. Celebrating with Lincoln High School Class of 1970. After 2 years at College of the Mainland, she went to work for Union Carbide where she retired after 30 years. She came out of retirement and went back into the work force at the Galveston County Courthouse. She retired in 2012.
Lois was always an entrepreneur. She is very well known in the community as the Avon lady. She has been known to host Tupperware parties. In Lois’s pastime, she enjoyed traveling with family, sewing, jigsaw puzzles and cooking. Lois served as a matriarch in her community and her family. She was very keen on community and spent a lot of time visiting others.
Being a mother and grandmother was one of the most important parts of her life. A role that gave her much pride and joy. She also was known to be the supportive sister, aunt and cousin and niece.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Loyce and Luna Mae Bradley as well as nephew Bryan Caldwell.
Lois leaves to mourn, her children; Cedric (Dollie) Bradley and Tonika Bradley. Her grandchildren; Kennedy Bradley, Cedric Bradley Jr and Jocelyn Etienne. Her siblings; Linda Banks, Ida Rice, Joann (Charles) Lakes, Jeanette Caldwell, Jenel (Timothy) Young, Anthony Bradley, Leonard (Jaleesa) Bradley, and Tony Bradley. She leaves a legacy of love that consist of her nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
