Latanya "Toni" Blevins Obituary

God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,

neither shall there be any more pain:  for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4

Latanya Blevins was born on September 23, 1970, in Texas City, Texas to Sandra Kay Laws and Gregory Allen Simmons.  She was lovingly called "Toni" by all who knew and loved her.

Toni grew up in La Marque, Texas, and attended La Marque High School. Toni became a Human Resource Site Manager, where she went above and beyond for her friends and coworkers. She was a member of Word of Faith Christian Life Center under the leadership of Apostle Ludie Lynch Jr. Toni serves as the Children’s Church Director where she planned Vacation Bible School and various activities for the children.

As a mother, Toni was a source of love, wisdom, and guidance to her children: Kevin, Johnea, and Lisa. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support shaped their lives in countless ways, leaving a legacy of strength and compassion. Toni was the cherished daughter and sister of Leslie, Dennis, and Craig who survived her and will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Her bond with her parents and siblings was one of profound respect and affection, and she drew great strength from their love throughout her life. As a friend, Toni was known for her kindness, generosity, and infectious laughter. She touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and genuine care, creating lasting friendships that spanned decades. Toni dedicated her life not only to her family but to her church and career. She found joy in creating memories for the people she cared about. Whether it was an elaborate cake or a custom T-shirt, she went out of her way to make others feel special. Her creativity knew no bounds as she created souvenirs, planned parties, hosted family gatherings, and cooked amazing meals. Her presence brought light and joy to all who knew her.

Toni is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lorraine and Artie Dawson and Margaret Maxie and Joe Simmons, and her aunt, Gwendolyn Kay White.

Toni is survived by her children; Kevin White, Johnea Ashley Blevins, Ja’lisa Marie Blevins, her grandchildren, Ondre Bryant and Raelynn Toni Wroten, her parents, Sandra Kay Laws and Gregory Allen Simmons, her bonus mom, Marci Simmons, and her siblings, Leslie Simmons, Dennis Benson, and Craig Stepney. Toni also leaves her niece and nephew Eric Roshawn Collins and Chantea Evette Collins, and their children Kaleigh Michelle Collins, Logan Roshawn Collins, and Charleigh Aaliyah Winston. She is remembered fondly by her extended family and countless friends, who will forever cherish the moments shared with her.

Though she is no longer with us, Toni's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her memory will be a guiding light, reminding us of the importance of love, kindness, and family.
