Landon DeShawn Trahan Obituary

Landon Deshawn Thibodeaux Trahan, born May 30, 2006, transitioned to eternity on March 4, 2026. His passing was unexpected by us but not by God. On that day, God received His child Landon into eternity.

Landon was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched everyone he met. He was a gifted and determined young man with a bright future ahead.

Landon graduated from high school with an impressive 4.3 GPA and continued his education at Prairie View A&M University, where he studied Mechanical Engineering and maintained a 3.7 GPA. Answering a call to serve his country, Landon enlisted in the United States Navy and was accepted into the Nuclear Engineering program. He was scheduled to depart on March 18, 2026, to begin his training and pursue his commitment to serving something greater than himself.

Throughout his academic journey, Landon demonstrated excellence, leadership, and creativity. He earned recognition as an AP Scholar and participated in the University of Houston STEM Program, reflecting his strong aptitude for science, engineering, and innovation.

Landon was actively involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including Powerlifting, Math UIL, and Drama UIL, and even participated in a commercial project for ExxonMobil. His leadership abilities were evident as he served as Co-Captain of the Powerlifting Team.

He was also deeply engaged in organizations that recognized both academic and artistic excellence. Landon was a member of the National Honor Society and served as Historian of the National Art Honor Society, contributing to numerous service initiatives. He was also involved with the NAACP and the Thomas Institute of Excellence.

Landon dedicated significant time to giving back to his community. Through his service with Operation One Vote alongside Ms. Bobby Patterson, he contributed more than 100 hours of community service. His volunteer work also included supporting the Sterling Municipal Library Food Drive, Highlands Little League Community, and Bay Area Homeless Services.

Outside of his academic and service commitments, Landon loved going to the gym, working out, and pushing himself physically. He had a strong passion for martial arts and weapons training through Elite Martial Arts, where he developed discipline, focus, and strength of character. He also enjoyed attending Pine Cove Christian Camp, experiences that helped shape his faith and personal growth.

Landon will be remembered for his kind heart, determination, discipline, and leadership, as well as his ability to bring joy and encouragement to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of service, excellence, and compassion that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lloyd Trahan Sr.; paternal great-grandmother, Theresa Za Mallet; maternal grandmother, Theresa Ann Lemalle; and maternal grandfather, Charles Thomas.

Landon is survived by his loving mother, Tejaster Thibodeaux; his siblings, Leonardo Thibodeaux, Caleb Buxie (Kimberly), Trueston Buxie (Destiny), Marley Foster, Neana Trahan, A’yonna Trahan, Paul Buxie Jr. (Andreau), Constantlian Buxie, LaToya Buxie, and Eladious Smith; and his paternal grandmother, Louis Trahan. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who will deeply miss him.
