Jon Michael Castro
July 1, 1960 – June 30, 2025
“One of a Kind”

 

     This was a simple phrase Jon would often say, but it carried so much truth. He truly lived up to being “One of a Kind.” 

     Jon was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He loved the San Antonio area, where his two sons and grandchildren were born. His close and dear neighbors fondly knew him as “San Antone” because he would always talk about his hometown.

     Jon later began a new chapter in League City, where he worked for Strickly Used Cars. His naturally outgoing and charismatic personality made him a friend to all. Jon never passed up an opportunity to connect, and he left lasting impressions on those around him.

     After moving to Texas City, Jon began a new career as a truck driver for Diamond Hydraulics which, to him, meant “serious business.” He soon became a human GPS, knowing every shortcut, every side street, and every highway from Texas City to Midland, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Jon took the utmost pride in his career and strived to be the best representation of Diamond Hydraulics. After 18 years with the company, his coworkers and friends had become his extended family.

     Jon never met a stranger. By the time he finished talking with you, you were a friend. It didn’t matter what your name was, how it was spelled, or how it was pronounced—he gave you his seal of approval by stamping you with a nickname.

     Thank you all for the many prayers each and every day. Jon will be deeply missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of warmth, loyalty, and laughter will live on in the hearts of many.

Rest easy, Jon—and continue to be “One of a Kind.”
