Irene Ward was born in Yoakum, TX to Joe Ellis and Alley Mae Ford.  Irene dated and married Lorraine in 1960 and to this union, four children were born.  She worked as a dietitian in the healthcare industry.  Irene retired in her early life to be a homemaker.  She would keep all her grandchildren while her children worked.  Irene was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for many years where she served as an Usher.

     Irene received her heavenly reward on November 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lorraine Ward, Sr.; child, Loretta Lewis; and grandchild, Krystal Ward.

     Irene leaves loving memories in the hearts of her children, Lorraine "Chubby" Ward, Jr. wife (Nicole), Tonya Ward and Sonya Ward; 14 Grandchildren; 22 Great-grandchildren; 1 Great-great-grandchild; siblings. Joe, Burnett, Chalmer, Margaret, Sarah Elizabeth, Marion Ruth, Earline, Laurl Ann; God Daughter, Andrea Cahee Wyles (David); Devoted Friend, Lawrence Russell; a host of other relatives and friends.
