On March 24, 1986, A Child was born to Tammy Mangum and Gary Bridges in Galveston, Texas whom they named Gary David Mangum.
Gary was born and raised in the Galveston County Community and went to School in the La Marque School District with the Class of 2004.
Gary was reared and accepted Christ at an early age at Progressive Baptist Church under the leadership of his grandfather The Late Rev M. C. Bridges.
Gary was known as “G-Block” and loved the “Westside”. He loved spending time with his family and friends, playing video games with his nephew and supporting his son at his baseball games. Gary loved women and “G-Block” showed his love for the “Westside” swangin and bangin in his slab car jammin Lil Keke.
On September 13, 2024, Gary was rewarded from labor to his reward. He is preceded in death by: Rev, M.C. Bridges and Sue Bridges (Paternal Grandparent's); (Maternal Great-Grandparents Earl and Lucy Wilcox; stepfather, Michael Holmes; one aunt, Doris I Mosley.; two uncles, John Wash and Marvin Bridges.
Gary leaves one son, Hezekiah D. Mangum of Texas City, Texas; mother, Tammy Mangum of La Marque, Texas; father, Gary Bridges, maternal grandmother, Cleo Ward of La Marque Texas; one Aunt Rose Wash of Texas City, Texas, sister, Tynesha Mangum; two brothers, Tristan Howard and Mike Collins both of Texas City, Texas; one niece, Tycoria Simon and nephew, Derrick Nabors of La Marque, Texas; his devoted group of friends, Nathaniel Boykins, Mario Moore, Tony McWilliams, Jerome Dozier, Roderick Dozier, Danny Hamilton, Bryce Hynson, Ronnie Rhem and Andre Ward. Gary’s infectious smile will be missed by all and the “Westside” will forever hold him down.
