Ervin Fulton Obituary
Ervin Fulton, born on July 16, 1967, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the late Earl Fulton and Myra Harper, lived a life full of faith, music, and love. Educated in Virginia, Ervin accepted Christ as his personal Savior under the leadership of Apostle Mary P. Bonner at Harvest International Full Gospel Baptist Center, Inc.
During his school years, Ervin discovered his extraordinary gift as a percussionist. His unmatched drum skills allowed him to play throughout high school and with the Virginia State University Marching Band. His talent also opened doors to perform behind gospel legends such as Shirley Caesar, Dorothy Norwood, Yolanda Adams, and Darryl Coley.
Ervin also loved cooking and shared that gift while working at Chicken Plus restaurant in West Texas City, where he became affectionately known as “Mr. E.”
He met the love of his life, Lolita Holiday, through a mutual friend while visiting Virginia one summer. Their bond grew beautifully, and they were united in marriage. From their blended family came the joy of their daughter Morgan.
When Ervin moved to Texas he continued using his musical gift, playing for numerous churches, Bay Area Baptist Church, Living Word Community of Faith, and Redeeming Ministries Church where he was deeply loved. Above all, he cherished his family and especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren he was raising, who he affectional called, “America” (Amaiya) and “Mr. President” (Jah’mir).
On Monday, December 1, 2025, God called Ervin home from his earthly labor to his eternal reward. Ervin was preceded in death by his father, Earl Fulton; his stepfather, Richard Harper; his mother-in-law, Mattie Marshall; his brother, Greg Fulton; and fathers-in-law, Jim E. Nellums and Lennon Brooks.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Lolita Holiday-Fulton; his children, Jasmine Lovett, Ervin Lovett, Ebony Fulton, Morgan Fulton and Prince-Kavaar Fulton; his stepdaughter, Cameran Foster; his beloved grandchildren; his mother, Myra Harper; his sisters, Earleen Ballard (Leo) and Gail Hobbs (Rodney); and Kim Fulton; his godson, Tremaine Childs; his sisters-in-law, Shannon Holiday (Shamika), Dorcas Simmons, and Debra Taylor (Steve); his brother-in-law, Jimmy Nellums (Angelina); his special aunt/mother-in-law, Ellen Nellums; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ervin’s legacy of rhythm, love, generosity, and faith will live on in every heart he touched.
