Remembering Our Loved One

     Ernest Lee Lewis Sr. of Texas City Texas passed away peacefully into the arms of our good Lord and Savior at age 86. Ernest Lee Lewis, Sr. the son of the late Clifford and Lee Anna Lewis.  He was born on September 9, 1937, in Bay, City TX. and later moved to La Marque TX with his parents.  He was affectionately called "Copperhead".

     On September 19, 2023, the good Lord wrapped his arms around him and said your journey is over, you can now rest. Ernest Lee accepted Christ with Bell Zion at an early age.  He attended and graduated from Lincoln High School. Ernest later went to the United States Air Force where he served active duty for four years. He also worked at Houston Lighting Power, Dejean, and owned his own mechanic shop, he was a trick of all trades. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. He was united in marriage with that union 9 kids were born.

     Preceding him in death are his parents, Clifford and Lee Anna Lewis; grandson, Ernest Lee Lewis, III; siblings, Carolyn Taylor Lee, David Wayne Lewis, Sr. and Robert Lewis, 

     His legacy of love and devotion will forever linger in the hearts of his devoted wife, Artice Lewis; children, Marie Downey of La Marque, TX, Ernest Lewis, Jr. of Texas City, TX, Edward (Moe) Lewis of Dallas, TX, Clifford (Cheryl) Lewis of La Marque, TX, Charles (Elizabeth) Lewis of Houston, TX, devoted daughter, Debbie (John) Freeman of Hitchcock, TX; 36 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; 1 great great great grandchild; host of nieces, nephews, family members; devoted grandchild, Denett Lewis, and devoted caregiver Miranda Fine.
