Eric Glen Slaughter Obituary

 

Eric Glen Slaughter was born to Irving Slaughter, Sr., and Genevieve Wagner Slaughter on May 5, 1961, in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Eric attended and graduated from school in Lafayette.  After graduating he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in July of 1981 and Eric served his country until July 1985.  Eric received numerous awards and Honors of Achievements such as a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. After serving in the Marines he developed a skill in welding.  He worked for Frank’s Casing for over 15 years.   Eric was employed with Pilings, Inc. and had worked for them for over 4 years.

Eric was a man full of love and integrity, he would always advise anyone who would listen, even the ones who didn’t listen. He gave so much to his family and friends.  Eric loved Mardi Gras and would host big Mardi Gras parties. 

Eric is preceded in death by his father Irving Slaughter, Sr. 

Eric leaves loving memories in the hearts of his loving wife, Fayleta Slaughter; children, Eric Slaughter, Jr., Toron Lawrence and Veronica Lawrence, Lance Smith and Amber Smith;  grandchildren,  Mykai, Tori and Toron, Jr., Brandon, Landon and Layla; mother, Genevieve Wagner Slaughter; siblings, Darrell and Virgie Wagner, Terrance, Sr. and Teresa Slaughter, Ellen and Benny Julien; Kimberly and Steven Boyd, Janis Sonnier, Karen and Connie Eugene, Sandra "Kay" Slaughter, Irving, Jr. and Lois Slaughter, Anthony "Bub" and Tanisha Slaughter, Rhonda James and Marva Slaughter; a host of nieces,  nephews; great niece and nephew, aunts, cousins, co-workers and numerous friends.
