Deborah Ann Simmons Obituary

Deborah Ann Simmons, 69, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, in Webster, Texas. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Deborah’s warmth, strength, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Deborah attended both North Shore and Westchester High Schools, where her love for music flourished. She found joy playing the flute in the school band, a talent that reflected her quiet grace and creativity. As a devoted Senior Girl Scout leader, she mentored young girls with compassion and enthusiasm, often leading outdoor adventures and backpacking trips that created lasting memories. Deborah dedicated 17 years of service to Market Doctors, where she retired with admiration and gratitude from colleagues and clients alike. Her professionalism and work ethic were matched only by her kindheartedness and sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Etta Annette Lorback and John C. Brady.

Deborah is survived by her devoted daughter, Brandy Shotwell and her husband, Douglas Shotwell; and her cherished son, James Simmons. She also leaves behind her sisters, Kathy Brady and Linda Dillard; her beloved grandchildren, Aubrey Dike and Makayla Dennis; and great-grandchildren, Ciara Simmons and Eliot Simmons. She is also lovingly remembered by her bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy and pride. Her legacy of love, leadership, and resilience will live on in all who knew her.

Deborah, you were deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
