Columbus Ervin Jr. "CJ" was born March 5, 1948, to the late Columbus Ervin Sr. and Lovie Adams-Ervin in Jamestown, Texas.
     Columbus was a graduate of Lamarque High School and worked to support his family as a Police officer, truck driver, and later Columbus and his wife opened a resale shop. Columbus married Jeanette Jones-Ervin on January 4, 1992.
     Columbus's passion was to work on small engines and keeping his yard nice and clean.

     Columbus is preceded in death by his siblings; Eugene Ervin, Katie B. Ervin-Bowie, Martha Ervin, Jeweline Johnson, Jewel Randle, and Earlene Faye Randle.
     Columbus leaves to cherish his memory his wife five children Bryan, Velicia, Romona, Kathryn (Dwayne), and Arkense; siblings,  Walter Faye Wormley, Meril Lemons-Pittman, Ray Charles Ervin, Robert Ervin, Shirley Ervin, Gaydale Ervin, Janet Ervin, Tracey Ervin and Vickie Ervin; and several grandkids and great grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
