Carolyn Morgan Gary Obituary

 

     Ms. Carolyn Morgan Gary (Momma Carolyn) was born on October 10, 1942, to Lewis and Florine Morgan in Galveston, Texas.


     Carolyn passed into eternal rest on April 8, 2026, at HCA Clear Lake Hospital in Webster, Texas.


     Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age, and she was a lifelong member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. D.N. Benford. As a member of Rising Star, she was a member of the General Mission and Circle #4.


     Carolyn was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School Class of 1962. She was a member of the National Honor Society and attended business college after completing her primary studies. In 1963 she was married to Alfred “Fats” Gary and to this union three children were born. Carolyn worked for 33 years at Galveston County Community Action Council where she impacted many lives.


     She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Helen Jackson, her grandson, Marke Williams-Gary, her granddaughter, Aasha Nichelle Gary and her oldest nephew, Ronald Morgan.


     She leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Anthony Gary, Gerald Gary (Cheryl), and Tammy Gary; her siblings: Louis Morgan (Doris) and Bettie Morgan; her grandchildren, Jamie Gomez (Chris), Dominique Gary, Nicklas Robinson and Desmond Gary, her great- grandchildren: Emma Williams, Jasmine Gomez and Jalie Gomez along with several bonus grandchildren; bonus sons: Alfred Gary Jr. and James Aaron Shankle; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
