Mrs. Carolyn Yvonne Franklin, age 72, of La Marque, Texas passed away Friday evening, March 13, 2026, at Jeanie Sealy Hospital at UTMB Galveston. She was born September 2, 1953, in Galveston, Texas, to the late Leonard and Mary Lou Bourgeois. Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Fredrick Jerome Bourgeois, her sisters, Cathy E. Bourgeois, and Marion L. Bourgeois.

     She attended La Marque schools, and was a devoted member of Neighborhood Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully. Carolyn loved Sunday School, cooking, decorating for church events, singing in the choir, praying for everyone she met, and spending precious time with her family.

     She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Joseph M. Franklin; of La Marque. Her sons, MSgt. Garland D. Bourgeois of South Carolina, Trorrie Bourgeois (Keisha); stepchildren, Marcus Franklin (Jaleesa), and Brittany Reeves (Damian); her sisters, Jacqueline Bourgeois-Joiner (Carl), Phyllis Bourgeois-Cotton (Darrel) and Lefornette Simpson; her brothers, Leonard Bourgeois (Robbie), David Bourgeois (Tanya), and Terry Bourgeois (Lucy). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Derion Simmons, Garland Bourgeois, Alexandra Bourgeois, Ian Jacob Bourgeois, Tori Freeman, Treavor Freeman, Teris Bourgeois, Keion Guillory, Kiandria Franklin, Kilynn Franklin, Mason Franklin, and Jayce Franklin; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Jaice Williams, Ace Gannon, Trevor Freeman Jr., Trenton Freeman, Ja’Marie Freeman, and Travon Freeman. goddaughter, Heavenle Hall, devoted stepmother Esther Bourgeois, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and dear friends who will all miss her deeply.
