On September 16, 1940, Barbara Jo Cofield was born in Calvert, Texas, to the late Joe and Johnnie B. Cofield.

     She was raised in Texas City, Texas, where she was baptized at First Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend F. M. Johnson. Barbara attended Booker T. Washington High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1958.

     After graduation, she married Johnny A. Tryals. To this union, five children were born: Johnny A. Tryals, Jr. (“Jr. Bug”), Reginald Tryals, the late Kevin D. Tryals, Gwendolyn G. Tryals, and Renetta Jo Tryals.

     Barbara Jo Tryals was a devoted mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family and took great pride in being a loving homemaker.  Her door was always open to family and friends, and her home became a place of comfort, laughter, and refuge for all who entered.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny A. Tryals; her parents, Joe and Johnnie B. Cofield; her son, Kevin D. Tryals; her brother, Robert Cofield, Sr.; her sister, LaVaune E. Rice; and her nephew, Robert Cofield, Jr. (“Denny”).

     She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Johnny A. Tryals, Jr., Gwendolyn G. Tryals, Reginald Tryals, and Renetta Jo Tryals; her grandchildren: LauSaune L. Tryals, Nekoshia M. Wooten, Marcus E. Henderson, Lucretia S. Lofton (John), Johnathan Green, and Amanda J. Henderson; her great-grandchildren: Amanie Rohelia, Dana Williams, Jeremiah Lofton, Jase Lofton, Kamryn Martin, Johnathan Green, Jr., Iris Green, Destiny Green, Dusty Green, Joeldon Green, and Kristen Corbett; and one cherished great-great-grandson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
