Today we gather to honor and celebrate the beautiful life and homegoing services of Aurelia Maude Gamble, a devoted mother, loving wife, and a woman whose heart was centered on family.
Aurelia was born on December 1, 1938, in Rosa, Louisiana to the late Joseph and Cornelius Lewis Chambers where she was raised surrounded by the values of faith, love, and family.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, Aurelia peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion.
Aurelia was a faithful member of Word of Spirit and Truth International Ministries, of Hitchcock, Texas where she served as the Mother of the Ministry and an usher until her sickness wouldn't allow her to.
Aurelia attended school in Rosa, Louisiana, and later moved to Galveston Texas alone with her parents and siblings where she eventually would meet the love of her life, create a loving home, and raise six children.
Being a wife and mother was not just a role for Aurelia it was her -calling. Aurelia was a beautiful housewife, the kind of woman who made a house feel like home. Her love could be felt in the care she gave, the advice she shared, and the warmth she showed to everyone who was around her.
Aurelia had a special gift for nurturing the people she loved. Her children and grandchildren knew that no matter what happened in life, their mother’s, grandmother love would always be there to guide them, comfort them, and help them. Besides God being first in her life, her family was her greatest pride and joy.
Aurelia was a woman of grace and sweet-spirited. Through the years, she poured her heart into raising her children and her grandchildren, building memories that will live on for generations. Her love extended beyond her children to her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Aurelia is preceded in death by her husband, Zeltee Gamble, Sr and two Son’s ; Zeltee Gamble, Jr. and Alfred Lee Gamble. Her parents, Joseph and Cornelius Lewis Chambers. Six brothers; Robert Chambers, Wilson Chambers, Alton Chambers, Rufus Chambers, Paul Chambers, and Lonnie Chambers.; and two sisters ; Gladys Chambers Clyde and Ruby Chambers Wright.
Aurlia's death is being cherished by her four children: daughters, Elaine (Donald ) Carrier of Texas City, Texas, and Christina ( Robert ) Simmons of La Marque, Texas, and sons, Jimmy Gamble of La Marque, Texas, and Lawrence (Tina) Gamble of Dickinson, Texas. Sister -in-law, Shirley Gamble of Huntsville, Texas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
