Archie Lee Harvey, Sr. was born August 19, 1938, in New Waverly, Texas to the union of Johnie Harvey, Sr. and Rosie Lee Harvey. He moved to Galveston, Texas at an early age and then relocated to Texas City, Texas where he resided permanently until his passing. He was employed with United Railroad for 21 years until he retired. Archie kept busy after retiring from the railroad while working at Lowe’s, Yale Security, and Allied Security. He loved hunting, fishing, zydeco, blues, and his beloved Dallas Cowboys.
On Friday afternoon, December 8, 2023, God chose to relieve Archie’s earthly limitations and fulfill his Heavenly expectations. Awaiting his arrival was father, Johnie Harvey, Sr.; mother, Rosie Lee Harvey; wife, Estella Harvey; son, Archie Harvey Jr.; daughter, Marcita Edwards; brothers, Johnie Harvey, Jr. (Leola), Frank Harvey, Sr., Roosevelt Harvey and Sister Lois Lee Freeman (Bert).
Archie united into marriage on July 28, 2022, to his loving wife, Sherril Harvey no children were born into this union; however, they had children from previous relationships.
His legacy of love and values will forever linger in the hearts of his wife Sherril Harvey, his son Jonathan Harvey, his loving devoted sister Ollie H. Johnson, and stepchildren Kimora, Lacoma, Jacoma Fontenette, and Justin Singleton. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Daniel Thomas, Tiesha Harvey, and Archie Harvey III., and his, devoted special niece Gloria Scott, and a host of loving generational nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
