Andrew Jackson Obituary

The Lord, in His infinite wisdom, called our beloved brother, Andrew Jackson, home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at his residence in Texas City, Texas. Andrew was born on January 17, 1959, in Galveston, Texas, to Luella Kemp Jackson and Walter Davis. At an early age, Andrew accepted Christ as his Savior, and he carried that faith with him throughout his life.  From an early age, it was clear that Andrew was one of a kind. He attended La Marque ISD public schools and later pursued a career as a truck driver, a role that fit his adventurous spirit. A true character, Andrew loved to laugh, tell “tall tales”, and keep everyone around him smiling. He had a sharp wit and a quick tongue. He could argue you down one minute and have you doubled over in laughter the next. Andrew had a love for blow pops, especially the green apple flavor, and his devotion to the Dallas Cowboys. Andrew had a heart as big as Texas. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back, a loyal protector to his sisters, and a loving brother, uncle, and friend. His ability to bring joy to others, whether through a joke or his simple presence, is a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Ashton Jackson, Sr.; his brothers, Ashton Jackson, Jr. and Walter Jackson; and his half-sisters Pearlie Brown and Elvira Woodard. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories to be cherished by his sisters, Annie Jackson-Edison (Andrew), Wilma Jean Manning, and Debra Spencer; his brother, Otis Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends. Though Andrew’s physical presence will be deeply missed … his laughter, love, and larger-than-life spirit will forever remain with us.
