Aaron D`Wayne "Smitty" Smith, Jr. Obituary

PACKING UP…

Aaron D’Wayne Smith was born in Harris County, Texas to Aaron Smith and Inez Horton Smith.  He grew up in Sweeny, Texas along with his siblings and other family members.

The family was in association with the New Light Progressive Baptist Church in Brazoria County, Texas.  He graduated from school there and began a work career in the Industrial Refining and Construction Industry.  At the time of his death, he was working for Bartlett Cocke Construction, a company he has been associated with for many years and was a Safety Engineering Supervisor.  He received many Awards and Commendations for his safe work practices and his excellent work ethic.

Outside of work Aaron loved his family and friends and enjoyed their company at many gatherings.  His wife, Angie, children and grandchildren were the center of his joy.  The Quad Four were there next and last but certainly not least were the GREEN BAY PACKERS, the only football team…according to him.  There were many days, nights weekends and holidays spent in front of the TV watching the only team pay.  Win, lose, or draw.   ‘GO PACK, GO”.

Aaron is preceded in death by his Parents Aaron and Inez Smith; sister, Ruby Walker; father-in-law, Donald Prevost; uncle, Doyle Anderson and many other relatives and friends.

Remaining to cherish his memory is his loving and caring wife, Angela Birdwell Smith; children, son, De’Andre Smith and daughters, Brittney Smith (Tra’Von Alexander) and Aerial Smith; grand-daughters, Keri Johnson, Aeriana Harvey, and Aeryn Alexander; brother, Mark Smith;  sister, Andrea Michelle Smith; beloved step mother, Mary Lee  Simmons Smith (Aaron);  Maevelyn Chillis (William), Childress Simmons, Janice Stephenson (Jospeh), James Simmons (Joneque), Cleophus Simmons (Gaybreil); beloved aunt, Dorothy Anderson; Anthony Anderson (Kelli), Rita Jones (Kenneth); beloved mother in law, Mercie Prevost; Lorraine Malveaux (Charles), Donna Davis (William) and Eguana Walker along with relatives and friends from all over the United States.

We will remember this ringing in our ears…
